I have more to post later. It was a very good weekend of railfanning with The Happy Little Cherub. Saturday night we were able to locate the H72 making a late departure from Stoney Creek Yard. I was hoping to get a timed telephoto exposure at HOOK tower, but the train backed too far up the NEC to allow that. So Ed and I went south to the Septa station and waited for him to move south. I dialed up what I hoped would be some good settings, popped up the flash, and fired:

Can't really argue with that. Only thing that would have made this shot cooler was if it was taken 6 years ago and the 60M had its class lights on...

These are from Monday, Ed and I did some fanning in the Philly area. Him being the wheelman allowed me to get this Ashcroft-worthy shot of the SC-01 outside the PECO power plant:

We headed north into the city, hoping to swing by Souf Philly to shoot some D&H action, but were drawn to the Norfeast to catch a couple trains, like this 39G:

We went past Frankford Junction Yard and saw a train sitting on the yard lead, turned out to be WPFJ-03, promptly calling the yardmaster to leave. He chose this most-excellent spot to bag it:

WPCA-01 on the Delair viaduct:

The slab terminal in Souf Philly, I took this one just as an "UP YOURS!" to the DRPA...

Q174 stopping at Locust St so he could work:

We then headed south to catch Q405 before Ed left to go back to craB-More...

A little something for the Conrail Queens...

Take your mind back to 1981

Duncannon, PA with 7, count 'em 7 units on a TV train westbound.  Ah yes, 7 lokies, 7 different paint schemes, and maybe 3 of them actually working at any given moment.  You gotta love Conrail in the early years.

Also, hold onto your hats, some views of the conveyor stone train that ran to the Texas quarry in Baltimore in the late 80's.
