New set of road number announced: https://www.scaletrains.com/n-scale/n-scale-locomotives/rivet-counter-n-scale-emd-sd40t-2.html

Sadly, still no snoots suitable for early to mid 1990s SP.

I guess that was the obvious move, though I was expecting Cotton Belt SD40T-2's would've been in a second release.

Specially since their releases usually follow the same pattern as the HO version, and SSW was done in their first run. We are getting a pair of the "Roseville Repaints" whereas HO versions haven't been done.

The SP AC44CWs were the same way. They offered two different phases for HO with 6 numbers, but the N scale version only got the one phase and 4 numbers.

A Roseville repaint is tempting, but I'll keep waiting for some DRGW with ditch lights or that single Kodachrome SD40T-2 that received ditch lights, 8573. So I'm 99.9% sure my wallet is safe this round.

My wallet should be safe since I model CN and CP in Ontario, yet I have all eight SP numbers from the first release for no particular reason, so maybe not. They're really impressive models, and ST's ability to produce road specific details including the headlights in the correct locations deserved some love.

FWIW there were only 10 SSW SD40T-2s.  There were 84 SSW SD45T-2s.  Scale Trains has not done an SD45T-2 in HO yet.

There's only 6 months too from Reservations Close to Expected Arrival, so they've sure got their production under control....

Yes. Atlas just announced some MP15DC's, tooling which they already have, and I'd be surprised to see them before 2027.

Some of it they do - now with ditch lights and sound for those options - but I know what you're saying.

Don't hold your breath on that.  Atlas has been extremely optimistic over the past few years.  If you check out the Production schedule page (https://shop.atlasrr.com/t-ordership.aspx) you will see many items with years in between the last reservation date and the actual shipping date (Check the red ones).

My post was about ScaleTrains, not Atlas....

New/updated tooling for ditch lights, but still probably the incorrect lighting package for the SP like previous runs I'd assume. Heck I would take an incorrect SP 2700 in Kodachrome though. Maybe even two, one to keep as 2700 and one to patch out to UPY 1298.
