It only happened in one spot which was a crossover, didn't happen anywhere else on the layout

I have just checked my two locos...one had the nub on one truck while the other had the nub on both trucks, all on the gear side of the frame.
One trucked had the  two nubs either side of the spring hanger.  Pays to check them out first as I would be having issues as well.

Yup, two locos, one nub on each. Easily removed.

Finished up my own custom CF7 conversion on the silver-series new chassis last night.   At the moment I have no fewer than 10 Atlas GP's hanging around including that one, going back from Classics all the way to this one.

And this is by far the quietest and smoothest chassis I've seen, and if it weren't for the position of the new DCC board hogging up the high short nose, I'd give it a 9.5, but the curse of all the old Atlas units was the occasional one that sounded like a razor in motion.   And with this issue, we are literally picking nits, it's about the size of one.

It's nothing new. I've seen this little nub pop up on those trucks before. I'm sure it was pretty common on the production line, but mostly caught when the units are test run before they're packed up.

Mine had the nub too.

But it was tiny and a second with Zurons cleaned it right up.

Also, hey, look at that, I finally have a sound equipped GP10!
I think I need a few more of these. There were sooo many geeps around Early Conrail.
