Power blocks for DC Hon30 layout

Hey everyone,
Just thought I would ask about wiring for power blocks in DC on spurs. When I finally get to build the top section of my layout, I will have 3 turnouts that I would like to have isolated so I can park a train on them and run another one at the same time. I think i have a basic knowledge of how to do it but I thought I would ask here to make sure I have it right. I have some toggle switches to shut the power off to the spur sections, just want to know how to wire them up. I also have some insulated rail joiners for those tracks as well. It will be a while till I get to that stage but figured I better get my ducks in a row before hand. Thanks!!

I would just cut one rail and put a thin styrene shim in the gap so it can't close.  Then just a toggle switch wired to connect the gap.  No need to do it for both rails.

Thanks Scott!!! I am terrible at wiring so any help is appreciated. I know this is a dumb question but what is the best way to wire the toggle switch? Sorry, I know these are really basic questions.

One side of the toggle would be from the track power for the cut rail, the other side of the toggle would go to the isolated/cut rail.  Nice and easy.

Thanks!!! Sounds pretty simple. Would I still need insulated joiners on that section?

An insulated joiner on one rail or cut it and fill with a bit of styrene.  The latter would look better but both work fine.
