Ron, the 1025-1 coupler is the same as 1023/1025 I recommended.

Max:  I hate to disagree with you, but the shim is for mounting at 0.293!  A shim on top of the box would raise the mounting height, or, alternately, lower the coupler.

I'm sitting here, with a box of 1015 couplers in front of me, and the back shows "Fig A with shim, .293 (7.4 mm)" and "Fig B without shim, .279 (7.1 mm)".

nkalanaga, get a load of this.  Apparently the drawing on their website is backwards from what you describe on your package!
(and I think what you are saying makes more sense).

LOL, how would it be possible that the mounting height for shimmed box is lower then the unshimmed box?!  Those dimensions make no sense.

Max:  Yes, your diagram is just the opposite of the one on the package!  And, as Peteski says, it makes no sense, if one tries to add up the numbers.

I wonder if anyone has actually tried to mount 1015s based on the website drawing?  That would be very frustrating!

I put on a Z scale coupler.  While better, it's still low.  But not as low as the 2004 or 1025.

Anyone know of a source for small washers (brass or copper for conductivity) I can use to shim up the tender body?  Everything I've seen is either too large or I have to buy 100 of them.

Hob-Bits sells a wide range of brass screws/nuts/washers packaged in small bags. Some hobby shops have display racks of those.

Drill a hole in thin brass sheet (shim brass), then cut it out.  Nothing says a washer has to be round!

Nkalanaga, that's true.  I did something similar with thin styrene when I needed an insulated washer that was ultra thin.
