Ritchie.  Greeting from the Land Down Under ( not to be confused with our two Far Eastern States) glad you are on the road to recovery and you are out and about. I still have 3 weeks before I am allowed to drive following an op to remove a Grade 4 Metastatic Melanoma from the brain. No pain from the op just was not allowed to drive for 3 months.

Weren't you able to get a doctor's note so you could beg off on the mowing?   

I was thinking before the incident of getting a gardener like near 95% of my neighbors have . They wanted $1200 or so yearly . Thats a lot of ESM wheels , MTL 1015s , etc . So instead I bought a Sears 4 cycle , DOHC , blown and injected mower with a wheely bar ............. well a 4 cycle push mower . My ESM wheel order came today , thanks Bryan .

More fun with ballast.  Curious what y'all think of this stuff, the LH side samples versus the Smith & Son stuff on the RH samples and dio track.  It is not sanded grout tho it is screened.

Wetting/gluing did darken it more that I wanted, tho not sure if there is a way around that.

Was at a train show and took some time to test a few of my 100 ton flatcars including the wind turbine blade setup and various other car types and loads (like @bnsfdash8 , I have been working on pipe spool loads...)

I’m in the process of bringing a couple of Kato Norfolk Southern SD70ACes to a standard closer to the Scaletrains Gevos they’ll be running with now and then.
This includes adding mu hoses, separate windshield wipers, cab sunshades, a few separate grabs (I’m not shaving and replacing the molded Kato grabs; just adding separate grabs that are missing), painting safety hand rails/steps, adding rear ditch lights,etc. The idea is to reduce the obvious disparity in detail between the two makes.
 To this end, I’m also ‘modernizing’ the SD70ACes by equipping them with PTCc antenna arrays. I sourced the 3D-printed cab roof PTC antennas from CMR products. Before applying them it’s necessary to remove the ‘as delivered’ antenna detail from the Kato cab roof. Using a sharp exacto blade, I carefully and slowly started chiseling the molded antenna from the cab roof, being careful not to damage the molded raised detail at the very front and rear edges of the cab roof. Removing the molded longitudinal conduit reveals an open slit that must be addressed. I inserted and glued a piece of evergreen styrene rod, and, when dry, applied Tamiya filler putty. When dry, this was sanded until smooth.
The cab is now ready for the PTC anrenna.
Once I remove 3D-printed antenna from its sprue, I’ll clean the part with alcohol before gluing in place.
