Anyone else seeing this advertisement on TV lately about freight rail safety?  Anyone on here able to comment on any inaccuracies without getting off the rails and locking down a thread?

.... I didn't notice anything 'inaccurate'.. but I didn't hear them 'say' anything either.... the photos of things they showed exist..

I would equate this to the latest Budweiser commercials..

Exactly. A shallow ad aimed more at the viewer's emotions rather than one presenting verifiable facts.

Obviously, the industry is engaging in PR posturing while attempting to thwart more federal oversight by trying to demonstrate it has somehow succeeded at being "self-regulating." But allowing railroads too much leeway has been akin to letting motorists make up their own traffic laws.

Corporate Safety Washing much like Corporate Green Washing and other social accountability PR initiatives.
