Stopped in Aberdeen on my way back from the Bahamas -- in addition to some good pix, also spent the night in the dark after the lights went out all over ..

I was there last week for Thanksgiving.
We've got family that's been directly impacted by the power outages.

One of the Florida Trains comes through every morning between 7 and 8.  Freight moves mostly at night.
I wonder if CSX signaling was affected the outages?

We arrived in town about 3pm .. went over to shoot the pictures of the station, then checked into the hotel over by the Mall -- returned to the room after dinner .. around 8pm the lights went out and never came back on .. fortunately I had a flashlight in the car, so we packed up around 5am and headed north - the entire area was this eerie darkness - not a light to be seen -- heavy police presence and state highway had trucks with flashing lights at each major intersection on US1 .. It was a Sunday morning, so not a lot of traffic to begin with == I hope they catch the SOBs ,

Actually, you could drive up from "The Bahamas"   It's possible to ship your vehicle from there back to the mainland .. but that would be a PITA .. I've driven to FL twice since 1 Nov .. usually break it up by stopping in SC and on the way north around Fayetteville (since I was stationed at FT Bragg in the late 80s while in the Navy)  ..

Of interest - the gas prices drop sharply in NC and GA ... Saturday in GA it was $2.85 near Savannah while here in the Old Line State  :( :( :( :( :(

Gas in Washington just decreased to $4.49 per gallon at the Chevron I usually fill up at.

Gas here is $2.89. This year I have seen it swing almost a dollar within the time of me using one tank.

3.59 at the Pilot/ Flying J on 93rd, 3.55 at Costco.
Filled up the Prancing Moose for less than 60 bucks.
