After picking up another 20 platforms worth of Atlas spine cars, I really need somebody to make 53' trailers. I've got enough of the Trainworx reserved to fill my train up, but when will they ever show up? I'm hoping JTC will fill the void.

And I'll bet you in 13 months when these come out, we'll still be waiting for the TW trailers.

Interesting... I saw some production samples of TW trailers at Trainfest, 40' refers and 20' or so pups.

I need to not skip the TTX flats this time around. If I expect to model ~1970s trains like Santa Fe's Super-C or UP's VAN I may as well take the wallet hit for a few.

The VAN was fun. In 1974-1976 it was four - count 'em, four - DDA40Xs with 30-35 cars. Smokin' hot. The excess horsepower shaved hours off the run solely because acceleration out of curves and other speed restrictions was drag-strip worthy. It was intended to compete with the Super-C's CHI-LAX schedule, but the problem UP had was the CHI-Omaha connection they had little control over.

That's one heck of a HP/T ratio. Must've been a favorite of crews.

Mu26aeh:  Considering how flimsy real van trailers are today, a paper model is very close to scale!

I've followed them on the interstate, and the sides visibly ripple from the airflow.

Not sure, I print mine trailers on photo paper, they might be sturdier  :D

I was talking to an airport rental bus driver - he quit his job at jb hunt because he said those 53' plate wall trailers were too dangerous to drive in bad weather...
