1) Pair of bright future CSX units lead a WB (think was LM but not 100%) at West End, MT. The three MRL headend helpers have already cut off and are in the siding blocked by the train.
2) Helpers from above train getting on underway, back down the pass to Livingston.
3) Helper set almost back to Livingston now, lost the snow. The SDP40, MRL 290, is always a welcomed sight.
4) Gas local along the Flathead on the approach to Dixon.

Coming home from Cheyenne, we got word that the KCS 4006 veterans unit was heading north on a double empty coal train.  We were able to get it south of Denver just before we lost all our light.

One more since my last Thursday post.

This one is to show that coal is king on the joint line.  The near train is south bound loaded with coal and the far train is heading back to Wyoming empty.

Went to NC over the Holiday to visit family. On a dreary Saturday, I caught a northbound CSX and a northbound Amtrak at the Wilson station, just a few minutes apart. Amtrak was running "wrong main" and did not stop at the platform; I expect it passed the CSX freight just a few miles up the line.

On the way home we stopped at Shenandoah VA and visited the museum/visitor center adjacent to the old N&W station. They have several trackside windows with chairs in front of them which made it very convenient to capture an NS job working the yard.
