A selection of custom MP54s

Some custom-painted Con-Cor MP54 models, this time around. All of these were painted based on photo references.

Bonus round: this is a BM62 full-baggage kitbashed out of the baggage ends of two separate MBm62 RPO-baggages. It's a little off on the door accuracy, and the number is wrong for a full-baggage, but it's a decent stand-in.

They look fantastic! I admit to being an Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) fan, having grown up under the wires in Sydney AU.

I'm also a bit of an EMU fan, as I've got operating models of a bunch of different classes.

They're some of my favorite things to run at shows, as they're not commonly modeled, and lots of folks notice them.

Not pictured, I also have a Jersey Arrow I, and some Reading heavyweights/Blueliners.

Nice models! Are you happy with the Con-Cor MP54s? Do they run well when first out of the box? They are so expensive. Same for the sound decoders. So, if you don't mind sharing your opinion, are you happy to have them?

Moto,
They're excellent models and do run very well. They also run pretty consistently together with multiple power cars. I only have non-sound NCE decoders in my equipment, which isn't too expensive; and all of the cars I have I've bought at a discount off ebay, then painted to my liking.

I will say though, that I did take the time to swap out the traction-tire axles on my powered cars, and it immediately improved their performance.

They're NJ International/Custom Brass cars, repowered with walthers metroliner drives and DCC installed.
