8K printing.

I hate using K's, but this Sonic Mini 8K has 22 micron pixels!

https://phrozen3d.com/pages/mini-8k-preorder

Also has some sort of LED projection. And dual rails.

And it is only $350.

Now there is no way I'm gonna get excited about anything from Phrozen after my Mini 4K problems, but it looks good on paper  :P

Looks like the resin vat is plastic.

8K is interesting, The format is decently sized too.

I'd be curious to see how it stacks up against the Anycubic Ultra in print detail, the build plate size on this mini 8K already has it beat.

What were your primary gripes with the Mini 4K? was it primarily the stability issues with the Z-Rail?

My Mini 4K was very weak and flexed a lot. Also had the replace the lead screw to get rid of stacked build lines every ~1\16".

Other than that it has been working fine. And i have never even sanded the build plate :P

Pretty impressive...  But I agree, with all the issues with the Sonic Mini 4K, I'd be very hesitant to purchase another Phrozen product.

The AnyCubic Ultra looks pretty impressive too, but the resolution is a lot lower than 8K, but supposedly, that's not a problem.  The demo prints from it are pretty darn fantastic.

The biggest problem I see with these new, much higher print quality machines, is that people like me that own an older machine aren't going to want to print anything anymore, because it'll look awful compared to stuff coming off the latest and greatest.

IDK -- In Nscale, most of what I print are cages, railings, ladders, trucks and automobiles and other detail parts -- stuff that would cost a small fortune at the LHS or Walthers .. those tend to be 3 foot rule models ..  guys that are printing for profit will probably want to invest in the latest and greatest .

The Phrozen 8k Mini is getting pretty good reviews.  From what I've seen, they addressed a lot of issues from the 4k mini.  Since I don't have any experience with the 4k Mini, I don't know if they got them all.  They are having a pre-order special now for $510. https://phrozen3d.com/products/sonic-mini-8k-influencer-special   Not as good as the first specials but better than full price.  Shipping is estimated at April.

The demo pics and specs comparing the 8K to the 4K in the ad look impressive.  I couldn't see the $350 sale price in the first link.  Nothing happened when I clicked on Buy Now.

8k is probably the point at which I pull the trigger on a home printer.. but they'll surely be cheaper and have some bugs worked out by this fall.
