Relettering LGB Cars

Anyone have any experience removing lettering from LGB cars? I just took delivery of my first D&RG boxcar that’s due to become a DSP&P boxcar. I’m planning to redo a couple of cars this way. I’ve got the benefit that to the best of my knowledge the oxide brown background color is actually the color of the molded plastic, so it should be pretty hard to discolor. A quick Google search turned up the usual suspects, brake fluid, isopropyl alcohol, etc, but I was wondering if anyone had firsthand experience specifically with LGB rolling stock and paint.
