I wanted to thank you all for your help and support of Doug and his family. It made me smile to think of Doug being able to take the controls and see a train go around his layout before he passed due to the help of all of you and his friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. I received a letter from his close friend Travis and wanted to share.
Letter from Doug's dear friend Travis Mays that he wanted to share with all of us - " I wanted to reach and let you know how grateful we are for the help you provided. Sadly as you may have heard Doug passed away peacefully in his sleep on Jan 30th. Thankfully due to your help and his friends he was able to see his model run before that night. You both have no idea how much we appreciate you and the community you are a part of. After you shared the post on the forums the family received over 100 more donations. Thank you again for everything , We at Sutter County Superintendent of Schools are eternally grateful and so is the MidKiff family."
