Sopundtraxx TSU-750

Been running a Bachmann EM-1 with the older TSU-750. Has run fine for years. Last night it started to just take off in a hurry in fwd. rev was very slow. I shut it down and tried again, same thing.  so then I tried a reset with CV 8 and vu 8. Now it just sits on the live track and you can only hear the dynamo and airpumps. will not move nor program.  Feels like it's in some kind of lock down.
    I been running my other three EM-1s with the Tsunami 2 and they are excellent. fingers are crossed.

any ideas out there what to do other then replace it ?

The older TSU-750’s had an internal fuse that did not like shorts- would blow the drive outputs and then not run.
Try doing a reset! If you can read the decoder you might save it. If you can’t read the decoder I would replace it with something newer, like a Tsunmi2.

I has gotten really goofy now. Last night while running three trains my EM-1 with the bad decoder , which I still have it in the roundhouse with sound on, pumps etc.  Decided to go for a drive on it's own. I think the hostler let her rip and she went right into the pit. took off high speed all on her own.  Hum.  I think it's decoder time. will bring it up to the same as the other three.

I have to say those EM-1s are excellent pullers and look good. I double and sometimes triple head as seen in the book Portrait Of The Rails by Don Ball Jr.

Most times that is the result of a rail to motor short. Usually this happens as soon has you put the loco on the rails, you could get lucky and repair short and posabilty save the decoder?
