I’m not sure that actual Proto:160 standards are needed, but something more accurate would be nice. I’ve done a few experiments based off of the 2mm Association’s standards but regauged to 9mm. It looks nice, but every axle has to be reguaged. True scale track gauge seems to be 8.97mm, I wonder if I made if 8.5 or so if anyone would notice. Might not have to reguage everything then. But that’s a different discussion.
Well, after a couple tries, i have a working #6! I need to add liquid flux to my shopping list as well as a smaller tip for my iron. I really like the jigs and point/frog filing tools! This one works well although i do see a slight raise with an fef building through the frog but it's still smoother than a factory atlas turnout out of the box! I guess I'm take the aud with me this week and ill build more in my hotel room. Drasko
A lot of people recommend Superior number 30 liquid flux. It’s good, but I’ve really been enjoying the Gel version recently. You apply it with a brush like liquid flux, but it stays where you put it. https://www.hnflux.com/page36.html#!/SUPERIOR-NO-30-SUPERSAFE™-****-SOLDERING-FLUX-****-LIQUID-GEL/c/12937143/offset=0&sort=normal
