If they did the RS11, they could do the RS18 and the RS36 at the same time (a lot of common parts between them), and that would give them the "3 new N scale locomotives" to announce before the end of this year.  Just sayin'....

I have all the Atlas RS11's I need.  I just bought two sets of RS18u parts from Jeff Briggs so I'm set there.  I'd go for an RS36 though.

Or they could do an M630 or M636 and I wouldn't squawk.

I don't need any RS-11s either.  I was just picking up on earlier comments that it might be what was coming from Rapido- and picking up on the comment from Rapido a month or 2 ago that they would be announcing 3 N scale loco projects before the end of the year.  Given my 1956 layout timeframe, I will be quite pleasantly surprised if they announce ANY locomotive that I need- their commitments to date appear to be to Canadian and NH prototypes.  If they were to announce a CN or GTW 4-8-4 or 4-8-2, and if I could save up enough to buy one before the pre-order window closed, terrific.  But I think the probability of NASA announcing that it has developed warp drive by the end of the year is higher than Rapido announcing an N scale steam locomotive.

LOL!  Yes.
But interesingly as you point out, Rapido does a lot of Canadian prototypes and is there really very much CN or CP steam in N Scale out there?  They may be missing an opportunity.  Although steam is hard to do.

EDIT:
I just realized something.  Last year, Rapido announced their "Icons of Canadian Steam" program, wherein they intend to do 12 important Canadian steam locomotive models by the year 2023, the first being the Royal Hudson.
All of this is in HO.   But you can always hope that they will test the waters in HO and make some of these in N... some day.
