I'm excited about this. I think I need one for the MA&PA and all sorts of other applications.

Gee whiz…. An electronic device capable of producing the loudest, most grating, irritating & annoying sound a train can make. Sounds like a really great marketing move there Scooter.

IDK, seems like a cool idea to me! Is it a grating sound? Sure. But you'd be hard pressed to find a train on a curve that isn't doing it.

My question is, is the guy triggering the sound by moving the car somehow? Seems like it, as he stops and starts again.

It’s sensor activated.  Supposedly, multiple sensors can be used.

Looks like the sound is modified by the reading that is generated by multiple sensors linked with each other.

We already have "scale squeel" if you have metal wheels, properly tight radii, and can listen closely.  :P

I like!  Now if we could only get a realistic horn sound, I might really consider sound.  But as long as the most frequent sound in (diesel era) modeling is so anemic, I can't bring myself to invest....

I wish you could hear my N scale diesel horns (I run custom-installed ESU and Zimo sound decoders).

My friend has the Kato UP executive train with the sound decoders in the E-units and also couple (or three) TCS sound effect decoders sprinkled among the passenger cars.  Those produce some random squeals and rail-related noises.  They are adjusted the volume low, and the effect is amazingly good.  The 3-dimensional sound (not just the locos) really works, especially when the train passes in front of me.   When he told me he was installing them in the train I was skeptical, but now I love it!
