Almost looks like a milk car:

or some other sort of express/reefer.

I followed the link and I did not see any references to that car. I'm not trainorders member.
But judging by the lettering on the car it is most likely used to carry some sort of dairy product (like milk).

Containers for hauling B-29 fuselage sections - basically a WWII version of a "Sky Box"

We also might want to consider the resemblance to milk cars was not accidental.

My guess would have been former subway or CTAcars.

Ignore this message.  I just realized I responded to the photo of the Pfaudler car rather than the original post.

According to the January 1951 and January 1953 issues of the Official Railway Equipment Register, GPEX 1021 is an AAR Mechanical Designation BMT - "House Car. A car constructed and equipped for passenger train service used in the transportation of liquids.  Equipped with one or more insulated tanks and with or without pumps and compressor.  Not equipped with means of refrigeration."  Part of series GPEX 1007 - GEPX 1033.  The following dimensions are listed:
Outside length:  51'-5"
Width at Eaves:  8'-9"
Extreme width:   9'-11"
Height to Eaves: 12'-10"
Height to top of running board: 13'-2" (also "Extreme Height")
Side doors:  2'-6" W X 6'-1" H.
Capacity:  75000 pounds, 8,000 gallons.

This series does not appear in the January 1943 ORER, the next earlier issue I have.

Cheers,

Maybe so, but I still found the info interesting. So it is not a car for carrying airplane fuselage parts, but liquids. Good to know.  But I might also be confused as to which car was the one carrying airplane parts: The Pfaulder car or the one in the initial post.
