BLW taking pre orders on a new Atlas offering of Ford rigs.

Wondering how these will play with the Trainworxs truck parts.

They play very well together.   ;)

This one has Trainworx wheels and fuel tanks.

This one just has Trainworx wheels.

Carter,

Do the Atlas Fords come with outside mirrors?

Carter,

Mark

Mark,

No, the mirrors are from Road Apples (Lineside Models).  They are not as nice as Showcase Miniatures or Trainworx mirrors, but they do fit the Atlas Ford's windows a lot better.

Mark,

No it's part 3604, Pickup Details.  Only one of the 6 sets of mirrors is actually small enough for a pickup, but even that set looks quite large on the GHQ Ford F-350.  The other 5 sets work best for Class 8 trucks!

One set on the fret works well for Showcase Miniatures Kenworth T600.  These are the only mirrors I have found that come close to the "factory installed" mirrors that I have seen on  T600s.  (This particular T600 has been grafted to a Trainworx chassis.)

The remaining 4 sets on the fret will work for the Atlas LNT-9000.

Is it me or does that T600 cab look odd?  The windows/windshield look too short (like it was chopped). Or maybe the hood is too tall?

While I'm not used to seeing a T600 w/o a sleeper and roof faring(my stepfather was an owner-operator until he retired and owned a T600), I think between the front windshield posts and visor it does make the windshield look small.  Both of those items are a bit chunky on the model(I've one to assemble still I've been staring at over coffee and reading this post). But it is N scale and I'm guessing that those 2 items would be pretty delicate if they were made to scale proportions.

The dart on the fender is different too. Not sure if that's a model year difference or a molding issue.

The diagonal line on the fender of the white KW model is a mold parting line. It could be sanded off before painting.

Filed off would be a better description.  It was sanded, but there was still at least 0.01 inches to go, and I wasn't sure if I could get it to look OK after that much material was removed.

Here is a newer (2016) version of the tractor.

The mold parting line was not as severe.

Thanks Carter! Now I just gotta figure where I can get these.
