I'm not surprised by anything from IM anymore, except deliveries.

I've never had any trouble with the products I've received, unlike some who've been less than satisfied with quality control, but it would be nice to actually RECEIVE some of the "recent" orders!

I still wish MT, Atlas, or FVM would make a good 1944 AAR boxcar.  I don't care if I have to paint the things.  The NP/BN had both 1937 and 1944, but I can't get the 1937 cars from IM...

I should have added that the trucks on the new IM covered hoppers look a lot like BLMA trucks.  The two little recessed circles on the underside of the bolster that have BL and MA in them on the BLMA trucks, have been filled in on these trucks.  And of course the couplers are truck mounted.

The only trouble I have are undulating FARR grills on their F3/F7-models.

I missed out on the Farr grills, as I bought a lifetime supply of Kato first-run Fs.  If I ever need to add a few, and the BN had a lot of them, the undecs are in the closet.

I wish they would improve the crispness of some of the details.

Just curious, how old is the tooling on these models... 20 years or so?

Somewhere in there, the cylyndricals are older but these came out before the ACF hoppers.

Checked their website today, 4650 undec still listed as September release, while the decorated models show March now.

Also check SD40-2's, now moved back until November.  Last update they showed Sept/Oct.    :x :x
