Thanks Ed,  great inspiration here at TRW
So i got my 10 or so bucket items done.  One was the caboose track.  initially I laid out the trackage using my fast tracks built #4 turnouts,

but in the end I had to take out 2 of them and replace them with the altas #5's that I also have.  The #4 near the top and entering the tail track was creating and S in the trackage and a lot of my locos were not going thru it well.

The entry turnout  was giving me trouble with the diverging route, the truck would hit the frog and derail. trouble with the diverging rail guard.  I tried a longer one to direct the loco's off the frog but in the end I butchered the turnout , so in went the #5.  All my loco like this arrangement better.

Got some track bumpers installed and powered up the power plant holding tracks.  So little backwards travel, but progress none the less.

The Mike McGratten Memorial train passed thru my layout.
It was an honor to host the train and run those cars thru.  I was very surprised that all those long cars went thru every switch and slight S configuration without a hitch.  My only regret is the poor pictures from the point and shoot camera that I use and the overall lighting in my garage.  Those PRR colors are dark !!!  Anyway got way to many things going on that i really need to sit and finish one at a time.  Doesn't help that this weekend Eric 220 and i went to Doug Nelson's home/layout to transfer the memorial train and i got to see his awesome layout. i swear raising the layout level makes such a huge diffrence.!!  I'm at about 45 inches and his is closer to about 55 inches.  And those Pennsy sound locos were as you saw "Hawt".   learned a lot and got the fires going

I have been busy with a lot of work recently so nothing new on the layout itslf, but i did have to implement the new CDS 'cat defense system"
One of my kitties has started to investigate the layout more and more, this after 3 years of nothing, no almost every day sleeping next to the round house.  so I went little Trump and built this.  hopefully it will deter and she will move to something else

I guess I had too much fun with the watch tower.

Hahaha! I love the guard shack!

I had my own cat-astrophe recently when one of my cats decided to take a high-speed, spooked tour from River City to Walnut Hill. No permanent damage, but many up-ended cars.
