... But seriously, I don't think there is any content a zero-post member can see that a non-member can't see, so no one will be blocked from seeing content. ...

Yes, but...

...one of the benefits of forum registration is controlling how it appears, including a big reduction in ad content cluttering the page. On those occasions when I access the site after clearing cookies, I am overwhelmed by the difference in the view non-members get.

Again, I think the key has to be "last active" AND "zero posts". I'm all for cleaning house since stuff runs faster and jumps higher without the clutter, but we don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

The running post count does not include the admin section of the board, so I guess Tom risks cutting off active members who only post to the admin board. ;)

Well, there goes that idea. One could always say "hi" in the introductions thread in the n scale forum.

Yeah I forgot we don't increase post count via posting to the admin forum.

Actually, nothing is easy. :| :tommann:

Going back to Mike's idea, can you delete members by the last active date? Perhaps accounts abandoned for 24-36+ months?
That would save the zero posters we're worried about, and prune people who made a couple posts 3 years ago and moved on...

I also agree with Mike: if those lurkers are active (going by last active date) you should let them stay.

Send em home, build a wall, and make nscale.net pay for it.  :D

Someone should move this thread so those asking not to be deleted who actually have a zero count get credit for asking to remain.

And, Tom, making fun of @Ed Kapuscinski is definitely easy.

And you can sure build your post count doing so.

As visiting this forum at least once weakly in Layout Engineering and nscale I read a lot and catch ideas for an own layout that might be realised one day in the future, I had never the idea of making posts like "looking good" "great layout" etc. Thats why I didn't had to say anything seriously since my registration.

To make a long story short: please don't delete me.

I guess then if  :tommann: insists on strictly going my the number of posts (not by activity) then the perfect solution is to simply introduce yourself in the Introductions thread in the N and Z scale forum.  That increments the post count and we know who you are.  :D

Since many members only read selected sections on this forum, maybe  :tommann: could post a message (in each section) instructing all the active zero-posters to just introduce themselves in the above mentioned way.  Problem solved.
