My Atlas #10's arrived today. :D
Other than John Sings mod, are there any other "must do" tweaks/tuning/mods that must be made to ensure bulletproof operation?
Thanks!!

Must have missed them. Is there a link to John's mods to the Atlas #10 T/O? Thanks in advance!

Ouch.

(Not that I'm arguing.  :))

Only "tip" I know is to put a dab of silicone on the underside where the clips are.

I remember only John's mods to Kato short turnouts, not Atlas #10s.

I agree with Chris: with Atlas turnouts the more you mess with them the more you mess them up.
Like he said, a dab of silcone under the hinged pivots might help keep the point rail sections in, but unless you find that they're popping out before you install them then they probably won't pop out later.

If some of your locos / cars are bumping up & down a little through the frog, then take a triangle file & make a FEW passes along the spikes on the inside of the rails between the hinge and the frog:

On the old run those sometimes sat a little proud.
Or, swap out your wheels for low-pro.

Otherwise, the only "mod" you should be making is powering your frogs  8)

Hi M.C,
I was referring to the video you made of installing the small piece of styrene. This does not apply to the #10's?

To those looking for #10's still; I got tired of waiting for Kleins and BLW to restock them (if they were even shipped their orders yet) and grabbed them off ebay. Lots of places on the bay selling them so don't know why two of the best nscale shops out there don't have them yet.  :?  Pricing ranges from 17 to 21 bucks. I paid 18 each with free shipping for four of them.

Chris333--I agree, but I really wanted #10's and since no one else makes them I have to give Atlas a shot.
