Curious about the airslide - I would have though most of these were built pre-1969 - but that's just my gut feeling ...

I have one, but it doesn't stand up to current models.

Don't get me wrong, I do buy Trainman ore cars, but the rest isn't so swell.

(Athearn is a no-go for me. Not one model I bought in the past was without errors. Factory new box cars with arched running boards, well cars with loose etched parts, McHenry couplers without springs - not a problem, as I always exchange McHenry's for Accumates. I could go on and on.)

Hopefully some BNSF air slides stenciled for buffer car service are in the future, that's one thing missing from my ethanol train.

Yes, I'm talking about the two companies that make the model that you asked if anybody made. 

The Atlas model can be greatly improved with just a thinner roof and running board, and Athearn sells undecorated kits if you have issues with the fit and finish.  I've seen issues with some Athearn cars, but can't say I've had any with the Airslides.

Good news. Just heard it was just a mixup on the flyer and that they'll actually be body mounted.
