Pay someone to install sound

Is there anyone on here that would be willing to install a few sound decoders ?  I could probably do them myself , but don't mind paying someone to do a better job than I could . :scared:  lt would be B-man steamers , 2-6-6-2 with short vandy , Lt . Mountain , and the newest 2-8-0 .  And possibly upgrade a couple berks , and a K4 down the road . Thinking either the econami or ESU decoders with caps .

There are several pro installers out there: Top Hobby Trains, Streamlined Backshop, Tony's Train Exchange, Litchfield Station are a few that I'm aware of.  I have never used any of these folks myself, but I have friends/acquaintances who have and are pleased with the results.  I am sure there are others.

Yea , I have seen the commercial sites , but I was hoping that someone here ( not trying to put anyone on the spot , JD :D ...) may be interested . I'm not trying to get any kind of "deal" , I know just how much a persons time is worth , but felt that having someone that is more familiar with N scale would be an advantage .

Hi Mike.

While I'm flattered that you're thinking of me, I just don't do this kind of thing.  Mostly it's because I'm always scared to death of screwing something up.  If I destroy one of my own locomotives doing an install, well, no big deal.  My loco, my fault, move on to the next project.  But if I destroyed someone else's, I'd feel awful - and many of these things are out of production and can't easily be replaced.  So I'm not your guy.  I'll post what I do for others to see and try themselves; I'm tickled to help people figure stuff out via e-mail, but I just don't work on other folks' locomotives, so I can sleep well at night.

And I know that Top Hobby Trains and Streamlined Backshops have a LOT of N scale experience - Streamlined Backshops, in fact, is where I buy all my decoders and wiring harnesses from, and the owner  has done some amazing things in N scale - check out his personal Kato FEF installation here (where he's done stuff I wouldn't even attempt to do):

He's really, really good at this, although that means that he's also swamped with orders and getting an install done takes a bit of time.
