Thanks for the Richmond controls link. Have one of these locos in my 'to do' pile and haven't even had a chance to look at it yet, so this thread is helpful. Did not know that there is no pickup in the tender, and it is so huge!

What solution has been arrived at for the split axle syndrome on these?
Northern Pacific in the Badlands, in N-scale of course!

Currently, my white box 4-8-4 is completely apart with 4 out of 4 driver axles split. I plan to use brass sleeves to fix them so I need to find thin-walled brass tube with an I.D. of .120"
