disassembling Kato truck

I am attempting to disassemble a Kato truck.  It is an sd40, not a dash 2.  I have the truck out of the loco.  There is a cover plate on the bottom of the gearbox which appears to be attached with 4 clips.  I've tried to move, or bend the clips with no success.  Looking for advice.

The bottom plate of the truck is molded as the same piece as the sideframes. This is the same for most Kato trucks I think, what I usually do is spread the sideframes from the top where the copper contact is visible and simply "peel" down to unclip the bottom.

It was a struggle, but I fixed my problem.  The four clips are press fit.  Thanks for the info Wutter, the side frames are flexible, which helped in putting the truck back together.
