Small update: I've added some dirt and static grass to the retaining wall. I've got more to do on this, but it's coming along.

I need your guys' opinions!  Do you like the bare dirt at the top of the retaining wall in the photo above?  Or the greenery that grew overnight in the photo below? I'm on the fence... 

If I decide to go back to bare dirt, it won't be difficult to remove the Siflor and touch up the dirt.

Unless new or someone was tasked with spraying Roundup, it's likely it would be weed covered.

Haha, yeah I haven't spent time on the lower portion (obviously I think). I also need to add some greenery seeping through the cribbing.

I'll mess with it some more over the weekend and post photos.

Have you had a chance to go out & look at real retaining walls? If not do a Google search for them. It would seem that who ever built the wall would or would not put veg there. Otherwise it would be native veg &/or weeds.

I think it should be a mix of both; dirt, plus scrubby/randomized weeds and low grasses. Mix up the texture and color of the weeds; to my eye, what you have there right now looks too "cultivated."
