Sss index poll

with over 32,000 views of the Sss index, I've never been able to figure out if anyone is using it for construction. I would really like to know how many are actually building from the sketches and PDF's, and if there are any problems.

My vote was #2, but more accurately, "#4", the index (and drawings) are an incredible resource to assist with selecting structures in the layout design process.

I'm using 2 drawings to create actual models. My recommendation would be larger industries, and perhaps ones that offer more complexity. I'd also like to see more prototypical Sears houses too and some Main Street businesses, including the likes of big supermarkets, diners and petrol stations. Of course, I want them to fit the 1960s era too...

I would also be a #4, which in my case means: "Haven't used sketches for construction ... yet. But I expect to, and am grateful for your efforts and willingness to share."

Thank you!

This is more or less where I am.  I really appreciate your efforts to make these available, even if I don't very many.  I will vote "2" as closest to how I will likely use them.

I am beginning work on a layout, and in all likelihood will use some of the Sss designs at some point- although most likely modified. For instance, might take a small freight dock, make a dozen copies, put the sections together to create a larger freight dock.

If you are looking for future projects, one that I would use en masse would be Midwestern, USA, 3 flat brick or brownstone or graystone residential buildings, along this line:
https://chuckmanplaces.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/photo-chicago-south-shore-apartment-building-euclid-ave-near-79th-from-chicago-and-los-angeles-film-location-site.jpg (used the link because I don't have permission to "borrow" his photos.  The site is great if you are researching Chicago architecture and locales.

At any rate, I will need those in large numbers for background residential areas of the planned layout, along with a lot of back porches.  The only thing available commercially are the Walthers tenements- which are 4 story buildings- rare in Chicago (they can be cut down, but it is difficult to hide the seams) and a couple of laser kits- which are usually wood buildings, again, rare in Chicago.  And all of those are designed to be the "back porch" trackside view- nobody makes the fronts of those buildings.

For industries, BIG is what I am looking for- planning for the 400-500 foot long freight houses near Dearborn Station, for instance.   Likewise, downtown office buildings.

I am less likely to do small buildings as there are so many available commercially.

Again, thanks for your efforts, and best regards,
Tom D.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

As far as I can tell, the poll is already locked.
