I saw the Southern unit today for the first time - a really classy scheme.  I've now seen 18 of the 20 units in service.  Still need to catch the Erie and the N&W.

I'm from the WNY area but living in Cincinnati. I have a special fondness for ALCo's and the WNY&P

Yah, lots to like about the WNY&P and the LA&L lines. I had taken a vacation day for an overnight railfanning trip specifically in search of the big ALCo's last March, and consider myself lucky to have gotten some nice photos in the snow. I live near Harrisburg, so chasing trains in the Southern Tier is never a spur-of-the-moment thing for me. I usually go to the Corning area to railfan the old Erie line; this had been my first trip along the old PRR Buffalo line.

I'm going to the ELHS Spring Meet in New Jersey next month and hope to get to Binghamton the next day, but haven't chosen which route to take yet.  (Maybe Spring will be here by then!)
