MR has started to ship a new DVD series .. the first couple have been ok .. but appear to be repackaging of Allen Keller videos ..

2nd DVD has Rick Rideout's L&N, and the V&O .

I received one of those DVDs in the mail.  It definitely seemed repackaged to me, and the one layout that I saw (I didn't watch the portion on the other layout displayed) seemed to be filmed in the 1990s.  As far as model railroading has advanced in the past twenty years, it really made the DVD feel non-relevant to me.  I can appreciate why someone would want video on those great layouts of the past that no longer exist (a fallen flag, perhaps, like the V&O, AM, or G&D) for nostalgia purposes, but I have no interest in buying DVDs with out-of-date footage on random layouts that will offer little informational value.

By the way, I never send the free DVD back, and I don't sign up for the DVD subscription.  You would think they would have figured that out by now.  Their loss.

I got a dvd from them. Some nice layouts, but one was Bruce Chubbs Sunset Valley. I was like hello 1970's.

Bruce Chubb's first Sunset Valley, or the more recent incarnation? Either way, I wouldn't mind seeing that. Loved his book on operations (based on the old layout).

Was his first one, the video quality took a dive during that segment and his wife was wearing 1970's hair.  :scared:

You sure his layout isn't set in the 1970's and she wasn't just trying to get into full character?      :D

Cheers,
Brian

Are these old repackaged Allen Keller videos?  As in: mustaches, wood paneling, and big hair?
