First there was this:

And now, however many years later (I think 80 to 90-something), came this:

If N scale had good SD40-2s, C30-7s, U30Cs, SD45s, SD40s, and SW10s; I'd be in N scale.

This unit even comes with "ditch horns"...

Guaranteed to shatter safety glass from a quarter mile away.

Perfect! The NIMBINATOR.

Oddly enough, the dual horn setup is a direct consequence of NIMBYism.

In the areas where these things are kept overnight, they are not allowed to do the daily mandatory horn test because of noise regulations and what not.

Hence, they need fully redundant horn setups.

Got to visit New Orleans for the first time.  Busy schedule precluded actually riding one, but I shot a bunch of trolleys!

Also got to dig some NOPB Gen Set action.

Calling the street cars trolleys brands you as a tourist. :D

Hmm... I miss New
Orleans...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

Ugh... been to New Orleans three times. That was three times too many--sorry, you couldn't pay me to go there again.

I went for Jazz Fest, being something of an audiophile the music appeals to me.  I loved the architecture in the French Quarter, but only walked about a block of Bourbon Street before I felt queasy.  Clearly the town exists for the purpose of separating tourists from their money, but it does so with a great deal of originality.  While other towns try to emulate Disney, New Orleans clearly marches to its own drummer...

... and he weighs 300 lbs. and can lift carpet with his voice.  So it's all good...
