Little perturbed with Walther's kit

I purchased Bud's Trucking Co for my sons under-the-bed layout for Christmas.  In the description for the kit, it says "colorful sign decals".  In the box is not decals, but signs printed on a medium-heavy card stock.  Since when did Walthers start doing this ?  The decals would be so much nicer for a finished product

Probably somebody at Walthers got tired of hearing complaints about the dried-out, brittle decals in kits that had sat on shelves for several years before purchase.
Of course, it would be nice if they changed the wording on the box description to reflect this, so you know what to expect when you open the box.

Just so we're speaking the same language:  the water slide decals they usually include require cutting (and subsequent water-sliding  ).  They never include decals that looked like "stickers".  So if they are indeed printing on cardstock, that is news to me.

Perhaps you could scan and print to clear decal paper, if Walthers is no longer including decals.

No, these are not water slide decals.  They are signs printed on what I'm guessing is 110 lb card stock (happen to have a stack at my desk).  In the directions, it says "To mount signs, simply cut the desired name and, using a small drop of white glue on the back, glue it in place"

Well, that sucks.   Too bad they changed it up.

A while ago. I can remember purchasing a few Walthers HO kits back in 2002-2003 that had signs printed on cardstock and not decals.

I was at a hobby shop last week, and one of the new Walthers kits did indeed specify cut and glue signage on the label.

Anything to save $0.01 when it comes to Walther's. I am surprised they changed the working on the box. That must of cost them $.
