Peteski, your correct the recent Fox Valley freight cars have come with the FV metal wide wheel.
I used a set off of a FV B&O wagontop boxcar to compare to my just received Milw 50 rib sided boxcars wheels. You can see the difference, measuring them just confirmed my old eyes were not playing tricks. I actually think that this is a smart move by Fox Valley to come out with a semi scale wheel, which is what Micro Trains new Standard wheel can also be thought of.
On the same thought I have had the opportunity to operate on a number of local HO Scale layouts that pretty much never experience a derailment. Being HO, all the rolling stock have body mounted couplers. Plus they all use metal semi scale wheels. Semi Scale wheels have wider treads than a scale wheel would and I think thats another idea that may make its way to N-Scale. --Brian
