I'm curious as to when you submitted compared to when it was published. How much time did it take you to do? Revisions back from Joe? What/who inspired you to make the effort?

The modeling and writing took about 6 weeks - mostly nights and weekends.  I pitched the article first, and then sent some early photos to get feedback before I sent the full article.  That helped a lot, as it allowed me to calibrate my pictures early and catch the actual build.  Once it went it, it was about 4 months to a tentative acceptance, and then about another 9 months to get it to actual publication.  Joe tells me he now has about an 18 month lead time for most articles due to volume of response, but I think that's flexible based on the subject.

As to inspiration, if Lee and Dave Vollmer can get published . . .

 :|         Congratulations Philip,from someone who won a Dremil Tool way back in 1970's in RMC for a Kit bashed dome obs car. Very nice work,I have made some streets out of gray artists mat board and dry transferr stripes ,but your method is far better. Nate Goodman (Nato0.
