Ntrak to oNetrak junction plan

I have been wanting to integrate some of my "home layout" into our Ntrak setups since I heard of oNetrak. Well, after careful thought, sale of the Suburban(can't transport huge modules anymore), and a real assessment of my own capabilities, I have settled on this layout of the oNetrak junction module I am going to build. And yes, MS Paint is a perfectly acceptable layout planning tool...




Depicts the blue line crossing and junctioning with a former double track now single track line that will depart the outside of the layout for the oNetrak district. The unusual module orientation ensures acceptable curve radii. Scenery will be fairly country with an old interlocking tower and some basic railroad buildings. My current modules will depart giving their guts for the new stuff. Destruction is already under way. The coal loader equipment may see the light of day on a oNetrak module sometime far into the future.

Got the crossovers for the Ntrak mains done.

Nothing like laying it out 1 to 1.

Well 8 months later and this is finally heading somewhere.  played around with orientation a bit and still like the twisted module set.



Changed the crossings to 60 degrees and things are looking closer to what I want. Just have to swing the tracks from the left further back to make the blue line radius stay within parameters.

And yes, MS Paint is a perfectly acceptable layout planning tool...

LOL!  Yep it is.  BUT, instead of using the pencil to draw curves, use the "Curve" icon and in four clicks you will have a nice smooth curve.   

1) First Endpoint
2) Second endpoint
3) first vector point (from 1st endpoint)
4) second vector point (from second endpoint)

I have drawn in Paint, and printed to 1:1, and laid it out nicely.  tunouts are an issue though...

Suggest getting the free AnyRail.  It lets you use up to 50 pieces of track before haveing to purchase the software and has all of the atlas snap and code 55 pieces in it library too.



By the way I like the diamonds through the Ntrak mains, it should turn out to be a really nice focal point.
