I knew that pic was going to confuse things... The bolt is correct... clamp was a test.

Ok, I think I am no longer confused then,

Why is the layout so high?

Great photos on the legs and a very innovative design. This is a really nice thread with lots of great information.
Best wishes, Dave

Ah, thanks. I'm really looking at this now since I've struggling with essentially a blank canvas in my basement and trying to utilize it's space,

...Its the two hours of cussing to get the joiner tracks down that everyone hates.

Ryan

Yeah, I hate joiner tracks too.  My F-Units standards don't have 'em.  Not only do they look really ugly, they also are a major contributor to tracking problems at modules' edges.

I am testing the idea of not gluing down 6 inches of track from the edge of the modules to compensate for slight misalignments between module trackage...perhaps only on one side, then spiking it down at the shows after it's properly aligned.  The upcoming Hostlers Show on the first weekend of March will tell me if this is a good idea or not.

However, I don't have any problems with no joiner tracks on my own modules in my home layout since I lay the track over the joints and cut it after it's glued down.  Unfortunately, I can't do that with the other guys' modules when they're building their own!
