Very inspiring pics of your progress. One thing that stands out to my eye immediately is the buildings have proper room at the docks for access to large trucks. Very often this is overlooked and the trucks look like they have to be airlifted in place. I look forward to more pics, keep up the good work.

Eric, your layout really is an inspiration. I love the right sized industries, the prototype spacing of everything, just, well, pretty much everything.

Very well done Eric.  Everything looks right proportion-wise.  Being based on the prototype industries the layout should be a blast to operate.
I'm not sure how often you log in but if you haven't looked at my Black River Section Scenery thread in the Weathering, Detailing, ... section you might find some more ideas for developing the tree texture and color issues you addressed.

Keep up the fine work.  Looking forward to seeing more.

Getting in on this a bit late after a return from a Thanksgiving break. Eric, wonderful work so far. I like your mix of protype industries, and the bridge is nice. It looks like there will be alot of operational possibilities . Nate Goodman (Nato).Salt Lake, Utah.

Thanks for the compliments and suggestions to start a blog or website for the layout.

I just set up a quick blog for now.  I am not a blogger and don't have experience with them, but it is what it is.  I will eventually start a website as time and schedule allow, but for now this will do.  Right now it is just some early construction photos and an explanation of what I am trying to accomplish.

That's about everything one should expect in a blog Eric.  I think it's a really nice effort on your part and I look forward to your progress.
I may have missed it but what are the dimensions of the room?

Thanks.  The room is 13' x 21', with the staging extending into a 2' x 11' closet and phase 2 will extend into a 6' x 10' closet with two decks.

Dude the blog is rockin', you are using GOOGLE so the posting components are
pretty cool. You can mess with the DESIGN box and the GADGETS inside it.
They have picture posting, third party URL hosting, links, followers, polls etc.
Just really play with it. You can great PAGES on the top and label those
like: Track Plan, Operations, Gallery, About, etc. Check out this to get
a better idea: http://scalewestrails.blogspot.com

Thanks Chuck.  I'll have to read through that to format the blog a little better.  I figured if I waited to try it, it would never get done.  I appreciate all feedback on the blog and the layout.  What doesn't kill me, makes my layout stronger.  :D

Chuck and Eric,

I've added both of your blogs to the blogroll of a group blog I administer (see under "Working on Their Railroads"). My layout progress, such as it is, may be tracked here: http://p4500.blogspot.com/search/label/layout%20progress

Great work!
