The videos show a nicely detailed layout, but I can't get past the lack of working ditchlights on the locomotive.  With the workmanship on the rest of the layout, the non-functioning ditchlights really stand out.

That would look really great with a good backdrop.   And ya gotta love the way the "Giant Toothpick From the Sky" looks in a video  :)

The last scene could have used some serious flange squeal, in addition to the ditchlights, and perhaps a bell clanging through the crossing in lieu of a horn...  The lack of a backdrop was the biggest distraction.

Re: Lack of backdrops.  His camera angles are so low, you can see where the wall meets the ceiling.  I don't think any backdrop would be high enough.  I always have that problem.  The temp backdrops are decent for photos, but I don't see a lot of options for Lance for those moving camera shots.  It didn't really bother me since I just tuned that part out.

I would agree on the ditch lights.  I don't think their absence detracted from the video, but having them would certainly have enhanced it.

I love lance's work and I check his stuff frequently for updates.  He's doing some of the most realistic modeling in the hobby today.
