I also got WiThrottle working

That is a cool little app!  It definitely feels like it needs a little more refinement.  Unfortunately, the app has not seen an update since January and the author's blog has not been updated since February.  I hope he hasn't given up...

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It has all the standard controls and they all work.

Progress on Global III

Looks terrific!  Any hints on how you did the sky?

Thanks,
Ed

Just used regular interior  flat latex paint.  White on the bottom, blue on the top and then used the same brush to blend the two colors together.  Lots of long horizontal strokes.

The layout is 25 inches wide at Global III.

My main gripe is that when the phone powers down, the train comes to a stop. I understand why it does that, but it doesn't work very well with my power-saving settings. All I ask is a switch to disable that function.

Just change your Auto-Lock/Passcode-Lock settings to "Never/Off", I think that might do the trick. Yeah its a b!+c4 to set it, but its only a few clicks.

That's my problem with it; I don't want to leave my phone on wasting power with WiFi while my train goes roundy-round.  Don't get me wrong, I do like the program, I just think it would be nice if it saw another release with a few more options and refinements.

The battery lasts for easily 8-9 hours with moderate usage (phone calls the exception), are you having trouble with your phone? What model are you using?

Thanks Darryl!  Any chance you can point to the specific blue that you used?   I've been struggling to find a blue that looks right to me, and the one in your pic is really good.

(I'm also trying out some of those flow conditioners to improve blending -- everything dries incredibly fast here in Colorado....)

Try using a spray bottle with water while you paint. It helps extend the bend time. A old hair spray bottle works well. You want a fine mist.
