Just a shameless plug for the 2nd annual Ohio Nscale weekend which is scheduled for this weekend, May 1 & 2 at the Franklin County fairgrounds in Hilliard Ohio just west of Columbus.  Take exit 13B Cemetery Road off I 270. Open 10-4 Saturday and 9-3 Sunday.  This will be the 2nd year for this event which is patterned after the Bedford, PA event scheduled for the last weekend in August.  Several layouts from around the Middle Atlantic and Midwest states will be there as well as venders.

Well it rained for two days but the Ohio N Scale Weekend went on regardless of the high humidity.  Didn't hear of any problems caused by the humidity.   I took a bunch of photos and will post them later.  Nice to renew some old friendships and make a few new ones too.   Picked up some stuff despite the New Year's resolution I made to only buy what I really needed, because, after all, that is what it is all about.  Thanks to the Central Ohio N Scale guys for another great event.  Next year it will be May 13 [setup day] 14 & 15.  So you guys can buy your wives a nice Mother's Day present the week before so she will let you go.

That sure was a constructive comment Nato.

The show was very nice. I went up Sunday and the turnout was light but all the people I talked to said the show was packed Saturday and all the vendors were quite happy. I still managed to find some deals. My 5 year old talked down one of the vendors on some Bachmann old time flats from $4 a car to $10 for 4 of them. I gave him a $10 budget and he did well with is money. I also picked up some Rivarossi Heavyweight coaches with MT trucks for $6 each.

I won't be posting any photos but needless to say the event was a lot of fun.  Layouts were from the following clubs: Northern Virginia Ntrak, Jersey Southern, Burning River Ntrak, Pittsburgh Lite track, Dayton N Track, Cintrak, Queen City N-gineers, Northeast Indiana N Scale, Three Rivers Associates In Ntrak [TRAINtrak], Columbus Area N Scalers and Central Ohio Ntrak [also had a T-Trak layout].

    Thanks for the Re Post. I like the city scene in the first pix the use of building fronts to make a 3D backdrop, the large Union Station (kind of like Kansas City) is very interesting. Is it just flat pannels with the stone work, windows and doors drawn on or is it actual moulded or carved sides? I cannot quite tell from the photo. Thats a clever use of a Mickey D's close to N Scale Christmas Tree orniment at the Amusement Park. The old train of Shorty Arnold Rapido Passenger cars (probably lettered for CAL ZEPH) on the train on one of the upper levels in the next to the last shot sure brings back memories.                 Nate Goodman (Nato).
