Hey guys, I have begun my new Nashville & Eastern layout in my man cave and I need some advice. It is an L-shaped switching layout that is 14' on one leg and 18' on the other and it is 12" deep.I did the design on my CAD software but I want to get some opinions before I begin so please take a look and give me your input.

I think it looks pretty good, but the area around Fortune Plastics and the Warehouse looks a little odd with the curved track.  Also, the "straightness" of everything looks bland - maybe some jagged edges and tracks jutting out into the room more.  In other words, maybe some sections with 16" deep areas.

i think this will get very boring very quickly.  i just worked through a pickup and drop off session and it was too simple.  have you seen this:

on the surface it looks easy enough, but the difficult part is juggling the pulls when you have a string of set outs for other industries.  your plan makes it a simple matter of dropping some here and then getting the pulls on the way back.  maybe i just like puzzles and the need to think through a switching problem - how do i get this car to this siding while i have these 3 cars to deal with.  if the cars have been staged properly according to industry location, it could be too easy and that's usually a bad thing for switching layouts.

check out this thread:

and here's and adaption of a real industrial area:

How long will it be before they show us how to add DCC to a tree?
