Canadian National boxcars

Listers, here's a pair of CN boxcars I just finished -- both are from IM 40' AAR kits.  These are perfect for my 1960 era, as CN had several thousand in service.  I used ModelFlex CN Red #11 and CDS dry transfers.

This car has the older angled herald, so I weathered it pretty heavily with washes, #2 pencil, and chalk:



This one has the newer paint scheme used from 1954-1960, so I kept the car pretty clean:



Two things I notice now is that the photos look a little more "orange" than my models, and the trucks could use some more grime, like a black or dark gray wash.

If you have a decent image editting program, you can adjust the colour balance to correct that.

Thanks, guys.  I'll need a bunch more of these, as CN had a huge fleet in 1960 and a direct interchange with the LV in Buffalo.
