Best Price I've Seen for ST SD40T-2's

At Hiawatha Hobbies where they are currently on sale. Looks like they have most still in stock, save for the Kodachrome units (ST is sold out of everything). First time I purchased from Hiawatha (I think) but I couldn't pass this up (picked up a 3rd SP unit). I hope this kind of post is OK here!

Of course it's ok Russ. It is not your (censoring) father's forum.  On TRW you can post things like bargain finds or links to eBay listings.  You can even discuss things not  allowed other places.  TRW rocks!  8)

It's their 'Trainfest' sale, 10% off many items. I grabbed a few goodies myself, and have ordered from them a few times in the past year. My only complaint is it takes them forever to get orders shipped.

Yes, TRW does rock for sure! I figured it was OK but it's still weird to go from one forum with VERY strict policies on this subject to this forum.

I just stumbled on Hiawatha last month and made a couple orders from them already
Fast and painless on this end… and lower priced than some of our other mainstream pushers without the trainfest sale
Funny you mentioned
Just today I added them to my fav list when I ordered more Ford Fairmonts for my racks
And I can post this without retribution
Aint it wonderful
Signed

I just can't understand why some forums, not directly tied to any model retail store or a model manufacturer could have such weird rules.  What do they gain by forbidding posting information about product availability or price? Well, I suppose that I could understand if some eBay seller, who's a forum member is posting links to their own eBay listings, but what is to gain by forbidding someone from posting info on where there is a best price for some item, or which retailer has certain items in stock? Heck, even if some member posts a link to some seller's eBay listing for some sought after product, whi is that no ok?  Forums like this are for exchanging infomration between members, relating to the subject of the forum.  It makes no sense to me to ban such posts.  :RUEffinKiddingMe:

My understanding is it's related to forum advertisers. If the supplier is not an advertiser, then they're off limits.

I guess the advertisers on the Railwire have no issues with what we discuss on the forum.

It is quite weird! I always thought advertising was to simply gain exposure and not to limit what can and cannot be discussed. The policy seems to be primarily focused on discussing retailers, but I have seen some issues arise outside of this on a few occasions.

I've tried to imagine what these conversations are like: "OK, we'll advertise on your forum, as long as no forum user ever makes mention to a competitor."

The companies that advertise on RW probably don't even know that they advertise on the railwire (algorithms! ).

Yeah, the censorship of what can be discussed on other forums (well except for politics and religion) doesn't seem to make sense.  I believe TRW runs Google ads, so I really don't know what type of limitations Goggle has for what is discussed on the forum (I guess none).  Maybe TB has different source of ads? Or maybe the limits are simply a whim of the people running TB forum?
