Wow @ztrack  those are really nice!!   Any chance of an SD40-2 in a BNSF H1 scheme?    Some of the ex-BN and ex-ATSF patches would be pretty awesome too  8)

BNSF SD40-2s are planned for later this year. I am not entirely sure what version is planned. I expect these to be very popular!

It is not H1, unfortunately the planned release is for swoosh.   (Not only is it BNSF swoosh, it's "switcher" Swoosh, with a newer renumber and RCL patches, if the artwork is correct.)   At least according to Hans on the AZL forum.   Check back in 2028 or so.

I too would like to see some patched units, but I don't mind patching them myself as long as we can get ditchlight equipped units.   I bought one ATSF and one BN just to "hedge bets" but I would definitely be in for any modern-ish BNSF/BNSF-lineage SD40-2's.  I can actually use the BN unit as a FURX lease unit without too much effort.   But that ATSF one will take some work...may just sell it if a more current ATSF unit arrives on the scene, especially one with ditchlights.

I posted a lot of examples and research about a multitude of BN, ATSF, BNSF, FURX, and other units on AZL's forum, but pulled down the photos/info after everyone got their underwear in a bunch.

I think AZL's  CSX version is correct (enough) for some H1 units, if you don't mind doing a repaint/re-decal.   (Tho that would take some custom decals)

I've decided not to take on any projects like that for now.  I'm not really setup to do custom painting at the moment, and like you say....decals.   That's a huge issue also.

At this point, I'm just saving every penny I can so that I can buy as many Dash 9's as possible when they get here.   The H1 SD40-2's would have been a purchase though...we pleaded with them to do H1 instead of the far less common Swoosh that has already been done in Z btw.   Probably another MTL whizzing contest thing.
