Is the chassis for the subject loco (Analog/DC version), supplied already machined for a Decoder for install by a customer?

Thanks,

According to Kato's website it is. I haven't heard if the frame is different from the last run but it will take a drop in decoder.

Even the original run of the 40-2's was DCC ready, however the SD40's that appeared several years before were not. TCS, ESU(sound), and Digitrax, off hand, all make drop in decoders for these units.

Thanks to all for the replies.
What would be the most suitable ESU Loksound decoder to use?
