Just received the new 2023 versions of the Atlas RS-2 and the Atlas Train Master and I must say I am pleasantly surprised how well these new revised engines run.
The Rs-2 has a normal DCC decoder but the Train Master has a ESU Loksound V sound decoder.
The DCC documentation that comes with the engines is rather sparse or in the case of the RS-2 totally missing. Does anybody know what decoder is used in it? Apparently it is a NCE decoder.
There is some info on the ESU decoder with the Train Master, but the listing of the CV's for the whistles or bells is not there. ESU does not list the Train Master in their list of sound files.
Have contacted Atlas to get more info, as of today I have not heard back. I might have to contact ESU.
Running these two new engines is a joy to watch. The pulling power of the Train Master is enormous, despite having no traction tires.
It is nice to get two new engines that require no after sales repair or adjustment, fitting of misaligned parts.
