Kato F40 PH-TCS decoder

Having a problem with this install because once the decoder is in stalled the shell will not fit back on. The rear fits down OK, but the front will not. Seems like the decoder is keeping the shell from dropping all the way down.
Decoder is a TCS K5D7, decoder was furnished by customer to install.
Not sure it is the correct decoder?
Loco is a F40PH. Amtrak Phase III .

K5D7 is for the Metra variant Kato F40's.

You want a K0D8 series (specifically K0D8-C) for the Kato Amtrak variant
