Does anyone have a copy of Santa Fe Passenger Train Cars 1870-1975 Volume 2? I am trying to get scans of the pages with photos of the ATSF Buda rail detectors and any drawings of them , if available.

I don't, but I do have "Santa Fe Head End Cars" that is published by the historical society.  It's a book of plans (and expanded information) taken from the Book series you reference. Multiple volumes were published. Maybe what you need is in here now?

I checked my copy of Volume 4- Business and special purpose cars. I don't THINK they are in there. @sirenworks - do you know approximately when the cars were built and in service? Might help with locating them.

There were two series of books. The earlier "blue books" (of which Santa Fe Passenger Train Cars 1870-1975 Volume 2 is part), and the later series that includes the ones that most of us have.

Is it these guys-

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

Yes, Tom, those are the Buda inspection cars.
